Dropping a Single Course

To cancel registration for a single course (drop), you must be registered for more than one course within a single summer session. Single course cancellation requests must be received in writing (see Single Course Cancellation Deadlines, below). Provide your name, address, student identification number, and statement of cancellation.

  • To cancel registration for a single course and receive a 100% refund, the request must be processed prior to the first day of classes.
  • To cancel registration for a single course without a “W” grade notation, the request must be processed during the schedule adjustment period appropriate for each summer session.
  • To cancel registration for a single course with a “W” grade notation on their transcript, the request must be processed according to the following dates:

Applicable only to students who remain registered for at least one course within a single session.

*There is no refund for dropping a single course after this date.

If you are only registered for one course and choose to drop it after classes begin, this is a withdrawal from the University and will be recorded on your academic transcript.
