(Only non-University of Maryland students need to submit admissions applications.)
27 Begin accepting registrations via on-line, fax, mail, or in person.
December 2008
20 Payment due for students who registered October 27-November 21.
Winter Break December 25, 2008, through January 2, 2009
January 2009
4 Payment due for students who registered November 22-January 4.
  Deadline to register without a $20 late registration fee.
  Deadline to cancel registration with 100% refund.
  Last day to drop a single course with a 100% refund (Please note that we will honor course drop and cancellation requests received on January 4 via email at winter@umd.edu or fax at 301-314-1282.)
5 First Day of Winter Term, University Opens.
  Deadline to apply for admission via mail, fax, or in person; deadline for registering via mail, fax, or in person.
  $20 late registration fee assessed for registrations initiated on or after this date.
  Payment due within 24 hours of submitting registration.
  Deadline for submitting documentation for classification as a Maryland resident for tuition and fee purposes.
6 Payment due within 24 hours of submitting registration.
7 Deadline for schedule adjustment.
  Last day to register for a course.
  Payment due within 24 hours of submitting registration.
  Last day to withdraw from all courses with a 50% refund.
  Last day to drop a single course with a 50% refund (applicable to students who remain registered for at least one course, no refund for dropping a single course after this date).
  Last day for undergraduates to drop a course without a "W."
  Last day for undergraduates to change credit level or grading method.
  Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to change section without departmental approval.
8 Last day of waitlist check-in.
  Payment due within 24 hours of submitting registration.
16 Last day for undergraduates to drop a course with a "W".
  Last day for graduate students to drop a course.
  Last day for graduate students to change credit level and grading method without departmental approval.
  Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to change section with departmental approval.
19 No Classes - University Closed for Martin Luther King Holiday
23 Winter Term ends.
  Last day to withdraw from all courses with no refund.
